The Poisoned PencilThe Poisoned Pencil was founded in 2012 as an imprint of Poisoned Pen Press, one of the largest mystery publishers in the US.  The focus of this imprint is the young adult market. Because manuscripts are submitted through an online submissions manager, you can check the status of your submission at any time. They read manuscripts from both agented and unagented authors.  They will publish four books, their first list, one per quarter in 2014.

Here, from their blog, is what they want.

1.  True mysteries.  Not just tension and tragedy.  This means that there has to be a crime, a problem, or the threat of a crime.  The protagonist must solve or resolve the problem.

2.  Likes traditional who-done-its and puzzle mysteries.

3.  Interested in stories that also appeal to adults.

4.  Make your teen characters realistic.

5.  Diversity.  This can be cultural or LGBT.  This means though that they want all types of stories, including historic.

Take a look at the manuscripts in your files and see if you have something suitable!
