Missouri SCBWI Advanced Writer’s Retreat

Does it seem like you fight every day to find time to work on your writing?

That you are struggling to take your craft to the next level?

If you answered YES to either of these questions than consider signing up for the Missouri SCBWI Retreat for Advanced Writers.   The event is April 25 – 27 in St. Charles, Missouri and will be lead by Viking editor Kendra Levin.

Kendra Levin is an editor at Viking Children’s Books, an imprint of Penguin Group (USA),where she has spent six years working on a wide range of children’s literature from picture books to young adult novels.  Prior to that, she worked at Scholastic in several different capacities.  Authors she edits include David A. Adler(the Cam Jansen series), Susane Colasanti, Sharon Robinson, M.H. Herlong, and Stasia Ward Kehoe.  An award-winning playwright whose plays have been produced Off- and Off-Off Broadway, Kendra also helps writers as a teacher and certified life coach. Learn more about her on her web site.

The Retreat  includes workshops led by Levin and published authors as well as a one-on-one manuscript consultation with Levin.

This event is designed for professional writers and priority in registration is given to SCBWI PAL members.  Not a PAL member?  Don’t panic! All you have to do is register and submit your manuscript for review.  We know what its like not to be published in spite of your talent as a writer, but we also know that this event is not suitable for less-advanced writers.  We don’t want to take your money if you aren’t ready for the work required to attend this event.

You can find a copy of the registration form here.

Questions?  Let me know and if I can’t answer them, I’ll forward them to someone who can.
