Upcoming Missouri SCBWI Conference

Just a reminder that the Early Bird registration rate for the Missouri SCBWI Confluence Conference 2011 (November 5th, 2011) expires on October 10th.

Speakers include:

  • Suzanne Morgan Williams, whose book Bull Rider is a nominee by librarians for the Truman Award, will speak on “How Writing may Change You.”
  • Quinlan Lee, agent with the Josh & Tracy Adams Literary Agency, will address the group on “Agenting by the Numbers.”
  • Heather Alexander, Assistant Editor at Dial Books, is giving a key note titled “What Does a Writer Do?”
  • Illustrator Rich Davis is giving doing one-on-one critiques and conducting two breakout sessions for illustrators.
  • Sue Bradford Edwards (yes, me!) is doing a session on writing and selling nonfiction.

There are also paid manuscript critiques given by Lee and Alexander as well as myself and Willa Award winner Louise A. Jackson.

If you are free the first Saturday in November, this event would be well worth your time.  It is a medium sized even and participants can find time to interact with the speakers.

You can find more information here.  Do let me know if you have any questions!
