Goals, Goals and More Goals for July

With the house to myself for a week, you might think I’d get twice as much done as usual — that would put me at about 12,000 words for the week.  But, no.  I did a lot of prewriting for my middle grade.  I submitted a picture book.  And I sanded.  We’re redecorating a bedroom complete with refinished dressers.  I’m finding that I like sanding quite a bit (more on that later in the week).

In spite of all of this, I managed to pull down 7278 words for the week.  Not astonishingly good, but good.  Some weeks you must need to pull back.  And there’s also a lot of work that needs to be done that isn’t strictly writing.

So this week I plan to:

  1. Write and submit my next CW article.  This will be the last one I need to work on for a few weeks.  In progress.
  2. Finish and submit the pitch for Education.com.  Done!
  3. 5 posts for One Writer’s Journey.  In progress.
  4. Post a review on the Bookshelf.  Done!
  5. 1 post for PrayPower.  Done!
  6. Write my posts for the Church blog.
  7. Brainstorm some new writing ideas.
  8. Work on my middle grade rewrite.  In progress.
  9. Brainstorm ideas for my new web site.
  10. Work on a new pitch for Writer’s Digest.
  11. Work on the two pieces that I am doing for Mo Scribbles.

I hope you are all meeting your goals!
