What do you think when someone says you should do a book trailer? Do you immediately worry about graphics? Sound tracks? Stunning special effects?
They’ll do the job, there’s no doubt about it. But you can also do a really good trailer with little more than two things: a camera and an author. Take a look at Veronica Roth’s trailer for Divergent (below). It is largely an author interview. Sure, there is some on-screen text and a bit of music, but this is mostly an interview.
I don’t know about you, but it has given me a bit more to think about as I noodle over the possibilities.
