Goals for the First Full Week of February

Did you get any writing done last week?  If you live in the upper Midwest, you probably had one or more snow/ice days with everyone at home together.   My son’s school let out early Monday and was cancelled Tuesday through Thursday.  In spite of that, I wrote 6002 words.  How?  By sitting down and writing.  Jane Yolen calls it Butt in Chair and it is definitely the best way to accomplish your writing tasks.
So what do I intend to do with my Butt in my Chair this week?
  • Finish article for Writer’s Digest (in progress).
  • Apply for book reviewing job (Done!).
  • Edit next issue of Mo Scribbles (in progress).
  • Rewrite the first 20 pages of my middle grade so that I can submit it for the retreat I’m attending in March (in progress).
  • Write one new chapter for the middle grade.
  • Decide which craft idea to write up for the new market.
  • Research new markets for Crab Dad (in progress).
  • 5 posts for One Writer’s Journey (Done!).
  • 1 post/review for the Bookshelf.
  • 1 post for a new blog that I’ll be telling everyone about soon — we are ironing out the details (Done!).
  • 1 blog post for Church (Done!).
  • Script rewrites (in progress).
  • Read a new how-to chapter (in progress).
  • Clean up half a pile here in my office.  I’m getting to the bigger piles so reducing one by half seems more do-able than making it completely vanish (in progress).
  • Brainstorm some new ideas (Done!).

Given the fact that I have a meeting in 30 minutes, this may be most of what I get written today.  Fingers crossed that I squeeze in just a bit more!

Good luck reaching your goals for the week!
