C&T Publishing, known for their quilting books, is launching a new imprint.  Fun Stitch Studio will premier this spring with the goal of tempting tweens  (8-14 years old) away from their technological doo-dads to try their hand at some old school technology — a sewing machine.  The motto for this imprint?  ”Stitch Your Art Out.”

They want to  nurture those new to sewing, quilting and embroidery with “accurate,” “inspirational,” “easy-to-use projects.”   Six new books will be added each year and will include a line of high-quality coloring books that teach color theory as well as other elements of design.

Here is a look at the covers for the first group of books:

March April May
We Love to Sew Coloring Books We Forest Fairy Crafts

June July
Fabric Paper Thread Kid's Guide to Sewing

You can find out how to submit to C&T here.   I wish I considered myself more of a seamstress.   As is it, I think I’m too crafty (as in arts and…).

Good luck to the rest of you!

  1. Hi Sue: Thanks for the great tips! I have one question, if you don’t mind, and if you have a little time. Over the holidays, I created and wrote up a number of crafts for education.com. But it’s been several weeks, and I assume they didn’t want any of them. I really tried to write on the style of the website and I developed several new crafts. Do you know of any way to find out what I did wrong? Or is it best to just keep trying?

Lisa Haag Kang Ps. Thanks for your daily posts; I’m learning south!

    • Lisa,
sorry for the delay. I’ve been busy pitching some new ideas to Education.com myself. Hang in there and wait a bit longer. A new editor just started or is starting. She is the editor I will be working with on my activities so may very well be the one to review yours as well.
